Lutron Caseta Requirements

​To ensure your Lutron Caséta system operates smoothly, the following requirements must be met:

 

Hardware

  • A Lutron Smart Bridge or Smart Bridge PRO is required, along with at least one Caséta Wireless dimmer or switch.

  • Some Caséta models may require a neutral connection in the wall box.

  • For LED, fluorescent, or ELV lighting loads, a LUT-MLC load adapter may be necessary.
     

Software

  • The Lutron app must be installed on an iOS or Android device.

  • You’ll need a new or existing Lutron account to access system features.
     

Network

  • A wireless router connected to your network is required.

  • The following settings must be configured:

    • Enable Bonjour, mDNS, and multicast.

    • Disable QoS and IGMP Snooping.

    • Unblock specific ports and URLs on your firewall as needed.
       

Environmental

  • The ambient operating temperature must be between 32°F and 104°F (0°C to 40°C).

  • Humidity levels must range between 0% and 90%.

  • Devices are intended for indoor use only.
     

Other Requirements

  • An ethernet cable and micro-USB power adapter are needed for setup.

  • An active internet connection is required for system functionality.
